Dr. habil. Nancy Weiland-Bräuer

I am a molecular biologist and microbiologist by training. My research focuses on microbial interactions, particularly among bacteria, between bacteria and bacteriophages, and between a eukaryotic host and its associated microbiota (metaorganism). I am interested in the diversity and function of those interactions and how they affect organismal and ecosystem health. My projects are solution- and application-oriented and ultimately aim to discover novel antimicrobials to combat serious bacterial infections. Finally, I enjoy sharing my fascination for prokaryotes' morphological and functional diversity with students, scientists, and the public.
